The Holy Father has asked us to pray for peace this Lent, especially in Ukraine.
At some point, I looked up quotes on peace and liked these a lot. Maybe you will, too:
Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding. —Albert Einstein
Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures. —JFK
If you don’t know the guy on the other side of the world, love him anyway because he’s just like you. He has the same dreams, the same hopes and fears. It’s one world, pal. We’re all neighbors. —Frank Sinatra
You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist. —Indira Gandhi
Where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace. —Dalai Lama
I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart: I am. I am. I am. —Sylvia Plath
Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough. —FDR
To reach peace, teach peace. —JPII
True peace is not merely the absence of tension, it is the presence of justice. —MLK, Jr.
We have to be active about kindness and about peace. I’ve always fantasized that it would be great if there was a Department of Peace. —Dave Matthews
Let us not deceive ourselves; we must elect with peace or with destruction. —Bernard Baruch
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. —Margaret Mead
