Where is it heading–
and why no sackcloth
to go with the ashes?
Me-ground is lost, too–
library, dinners, paid work,
soup kitchen.. two years..

Here is what I will do:
the dishes, floors, beds,
and a much nicer candle
for the hour of Mercy;
up to Goodwill for some
and a check for others.

Birdfeeders are emptied;
he says that’s all until Fall.

Here is what I will do:
Rescue me a goldfish, now,
so I can name him “Marinus”
(like the one who loved all).
No unnatural ill shall be his;
we will watch (and may sing)

    1. I appreciate that compliment very much, but we all write in our own way and I think we’re supposed to! I love your own blogging format — crisp, concise, and so often humourous– a great slice of your life we’d never otherwise know!

    A good response: Here is what I will do….. There is always something we can do. Reminds me of the Serenity Prayer.
